Sylvia graduated from Fresno State and obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science. She was the first in her family to receive a college degree. While attending Fresno State, she was awarded the Fresno Rotary Club scholarship and was accepted into a study abroad program at the Charles University in Prague in the Czech Republic.
Sylvia worked full time while attending college. After continuing to work in the legal field for a few years after graduation, she decided to pursue a juris doctorate degree. Sylvia is currently a second-year law student at the San Joaquin College of Law. In her first year of law school, Sylvia was recognized for her academic achievement and received Witkin awards for excellence in Torts and Legal Methods. Sylvia is ranked amongst the top 10 students in her class.
Sylvia has worked in the legal profession for over ten years. Her legal experience includes working for two reputable criminal defense law firms and the Madera County Superior Court. She has worked with attorneys and clients in private offices and the public sector, which includes court-appointed legal representation for juvenile defendants in Fresno County. Her experience in law offices and as a courtroom clerk has educated her on a range of areas in law, such as criminal, juvenile, family, and civil.
Sylvia’s passion for helping clients and the public over the years in the Central Valley influenced her decision to attend law school to better serve the community. Sylvia is a native Spanish speaker and is committed to assist Spanish-speaking clients throughout the legal process.
Sylvia adheres to the philosophies of Proper Defense and works extremely hard to provide the firm’s clients with the defense they deserve.
