In May 2024, Destini completed her master’s degree in Forensic Behavioral Sciences at Alliant International University, and a few months later, began her law school journey at San Joaquin College of Law, where she is now in her second year. Destini has received two Witkin Awards for achieving the highest grade in her Legal Methods course and Introduction to Immigration Law course.
While at Fresno State, Destini was an active member of multiple organizations. She served as Vice President and Banquet Chair for the Hispanic Business Student Association and worked as both a research and teaching assistant in the Criminology Department. Her dream to obtain a Juris Doctor Degree resulted from an undergraduate course, “Wrongful Convictions.” She aspires to work as a criminal defense attorney to prevent wrongful convictions like the ones she learned of in that course.
For many years, Destini practiced the art of baile folklórico, “folkloric dance,” performing with several groups such as Grupo Folklórico Baja California Sur, Fresno State’s Mexican Dance program, Los Danzantes de Aztlán, and Grupo Folklorico Tangu Yuu. She has taken the stage internationally in Chile, Argentina, and Mexico. Destini enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and trying her luck at the slots.
Having grown from our Legal Assistant to now serving as our Certified Law Clerk and Notary Public, Destini is responsible for legal research, case strategy development, reviewing criminal case files, preparing discovery requests, drafting motions, and translating legal documents. Destini is a tremendous asset to our firm as well as to our clients. Proper Defense is proud to have Destini on our team and to be part of her professional journey.
